There's a unique charm to the early internet that modern social media just can't replicate. It's the freedom, the bright colors, and the feeling that you've discovered a secret, hand-coded corner of the web. I plan to share a lot more about my own digital archaeology and why I chose this aesthetic for Jaicob's Land.
Think about Geocities or Angelfire—sites were built purely out of passion, not algorithms. That's the energy I want here. We're rejecting the sleek, standardized look of today for something with personality, boxy containers, fun buttons, and, yes, Comic Sans! It's about building a digital home, not just a page.
This space is my refuge from the endless scroll. Here, I control the aesthetic, the pace, and the content. It's a throwback to a time when browsing felt like exploring a wild, untamed frontier, and I hope you feel that sense of discovery too. Date: **October 22, 2025** – **Creating *Neon Racer: Midnight Grind*** 🎮
I'm deep into development on my next game, **Neon Racer: Midnight Grind**, a retro 2D arcade racer! I'm currently focused on designing the **first three levels** and perfecting the **pixel art sprites** for the main car model. The biggest challenge right now is coding the collision detection to feel smooth and responsive, just like the old-school arcade games. I'm hoping to have a playable demo ready for my Newgrounds page by **November**.
